Range: Most of US and adjacent Canada, except the west coast, NV and AZ (Riley et al. 2003)

Adult Activity: April 21 through June 11 in Alabama based on 15 specimens (Balsbaugh & Hays 1972).

Hosts: This species has been recorded from 17 plant families (Clark et al. 2004).

Similar Species:

This genus is worldwide in distribution and contains a great many species.
Seventy-seven species of Cryptocephalus occur in America north of Mexico (Arnett et al. 2002).
Forty-two species of Cryptocephalus occur in Texas (Riley et al. 2003).
