Spotted Cactus Longhorn Beetle

Moneilema blapsides ulkei Horn

Family Cerambycidae, Subfamily Lamiinae, Tribe Moneilemini

(males have a variable whitish reticulated pattern, females wholly black)

Range: Central Texas to Northern Mexico.

Adult Activity: April to December.

Abundance: Common on clay lomas northeast of Brownsville.

Similar Species: There are six species of Moneilema from Texas and western North America to Mexico.
