Map Source: Riley et al. 2003
Adult Activity: March 19-June 22 in Alabama based on 24 specimens (Balsbaugh & Hays 1972)
Host Plants:
This species is associated with Pinaceae, having been reported from Abies, Picea, Pinus (many spp.) and Tsuga. All records from plants other than Pinaceae were likely either incidental or based on misidentified beetles. (Clark et al. 2004)
Similar Species:
Thirty-five species comprise this genus which ranges from Argentina and Chile north to southern Canada. Most of the 26 species found in America north of Mexico occur in the western United States, only a few species are present in the east (Arnett et al. 2002).
Texas Taxa:
Glyptoscelis albicans Baly
Glyptoscelis cryptica (Say)
Glyptoscelis prosopis Schaeffer
Glyptoscelis pubescens (Fabricius)
